About Us

"These guys are revered by musicians in Scotland... Combined they form a fully live power trio that will blow the minds of even the fussiest of music snobs..." - Coast Entertainments

With a repertoire that stretches from ABBA to Zeppelin and back again, The Kicks are guaranteed to fill your dance floor! Since forming the band at the end of February 2012, the band have been hard at work - adding more songs to their repertoire and packing dance floors around the country.

Aside from weddings, the band performs at many different events around the UK and Europe. In November 2012 & 2013, the band performed in front of 40,000 people at Falkirk City Council's annual fireworks show at Callendar Park. After releasing their first album; a collection of cover songs, the band embarked on a short tour of Holland which included an appearance on the Dutch TV and Radio Show, Omrop Fryslan, which broadcasts to over 60,000 viewers! The response from the audiences ensured that The Kicks returned to headline a festival in Friesland, Holland in June 2014 and 2016.

In 2015, the band shared the stage with Paolo Nutini and appeared on STV Glasgow's "The Riverside Show".

We perform at weddings and events all over the UK and Ireland each year in a variety of different sized venues (from large concert halls to small wedding venues) so rest assured that we have the equipment and skills to cater for your event and keep your dance floor jumping!

We supply everything that we need to put on our show. This includes our full back line, PA, drum riser and lights. We also have smaller PA set ups available to ensure that we can play in smaller venues too, so don’t worry about the size of your room. All of our equipment is PAT tested and the band has full public liability insurance. A typical wedding set lasts from 8pm til 12am with a break for the evening buffet (If you would like us to play after 12am, there is an additional charge. Please contact us or Coast Entertainments for further details if you would like an extended set). In addition to playing at your wedding or event, we can also offer the following additional services:

One of the most popular requests we get from clients is to provide a ceilidh set. We can provide up to 45 minutes of called ceilidh music at no additional charge! Our drummer, Neil, has played in ceilidh bands for a number of years and does a fantastic job calling the ceilidh and getting everyone up on the floor to take part. Don't worry if you can't remember what to do (or even if your guests have never took part in a ceilidh before), Neil teaches everyone the following dances during the set:

Gay Gordons
Dashing White Sergeant
Canadian Barn Dance
Strip The Willow
Virginia Reel
...and more!

Please contact us to let us know if you would like a ceilidh set during your event!

If you are looking for some background music during your drinks reception, we can also provide a special acoustic set for your guests. During these sets, we perform a wide range of music to get your guests ready for the main set later in the day. The videos above were recorded during the soundcheck before we performed at a drinks reception in the Lochside House Hotel, Cumnock. These videos will give you an example of our set up, the space that we require and what you could expect from us during these sets.

If you would like a quote to provide music during your drinks reception or any additional information, please don't hesitate to contact Coast Entertainments for a quote

Another popular additional service is our DJ sets! We can provide a DJ set to cover the last hour of your night that will include lots of chart hits and old classics to keep your party going into the wee hours of the morning. Please note: There is an additional fee for this service so please contact Coast Entertainments for a quote.
